Hello! My name is Connie and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Behavior Specialist in the state of Pennsylvania. I will be providing services completely through telehealth/online counseling as I pursue my doctoral degree in Western Pennsylvania. I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Millersville University in 2010. I have worked in the field for 16 years in a variety of roles since earning my bachelors, mostly through community mental health. I truly enjoy connecting with people and getting to experience their growth. I am experienced and comfortable with a wide range of clinical areas, especially Autism/Asperger’s, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and ADHD. I am also comfortable and experienced working with individuals from a variety of cultural backgrounds and sexual/gender orientations.
I utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques, but most commonly, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). This technique focuses on increasing awareness of the interactions between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and how to gain a feeling of better control in these areas. I teach mindfulness, meditation, communication/interpersonal skills, and distress tolerance. I am also working to integrate more holistic approaches into my practice, such as nutrition, physical movement, and creative arts to assist individuals with managing their symptoms.
My orientation is eclectic and person-centered, meaning I will always respect you as the expert of your life and your perspective is always valid. I will not be able to tell you what choices to make in life, but I can guide you to increase your understanding of your wants and needs and build confidence to achieve these goals.
I enjoy playing the piano, drawing, and kayaking and adore spending time with my rescue pit bull. I would love the opportunity to work with you, but more importantly, I hope you find a therapist that is a great fit for you. Take Care!
