About Blake Watson
Originally from Georgia, I fell in love with Lancaster County and moved here to establish my life and home in 2003. I greatly value the city-meets-country atmosphere, cultural diversity, and opportunities this area has to offer. I graduated from Millersville University's Master of Science Program in Clinical Psychology in 2010 and am a Licensed Professional Counselor.
I have worked with adults, children, and families from a variety of backgrounds in community-based services for the past 20 years. Through this, I have established a strong foundation of knowledge and experience providing these intensive therapeutic services, including a decade of working with individuals in their homes, schools, and local communities. I have also conducted hundreds of comprehensive psychological evaluations on both children and adults for various purposes.
In my practice, I consider myself to be an eclectic counselor, and draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities including cognitive-behavioral, arts and creative-based therapy, humanistic, Person-Centered, and Emotion-Focused Therapy.
I most often work with adults with concerns related to mood disorders, anxiety and panic, and those who are experiencing major life transitions (including divorce, job stress/problems, grief, college transitions, etc). I also work with adults who struggle with issues related to autism, especially in regard to developing an understanding of the social world and how to become able to successfully engage others and navigate the many transitions of life.
I openly welcome LGBTQI clients, those with alternative lifestyles and relationships, and clients with sex and other related concerns.
I welcome individuals regardless of ability, gender, race, religion, sexuality, and cultural origin.
